Replacement wooden windows

This bungalow in Ashley Cross, Poole needed the front bay window replaced as it had gone rotten. The property is about 100 years old, so hardly surprising that a wooden bay window had succumbed to rot. In order to keep the windows looking the same as the rest in the property, the client asked us to create replacement bespoke wooden windows.

Our joiners carefully measured the original windows and then set to work making these bespoke wooden period windows out of sapele hardwood.

The window is a four segment bow window and the top fanlights were fitted with diamond leaded double glazed units. The remaining glass was 20mm double glazed units, fully draught proofed with Ovolo mould and the ironmongery used was traditional black curly tail stays and fasteners.

We gave the sapele hardwood a coat of primer and the customer then painted it in the lovely grey colour as shown in the images.
